Details: This is a very clean, truck with brand new, 0 miles on 315/70 17 BF Goodrich A/T´s. The interior and exterior are in great condition. It is a 3500 with the short box. It has nerf bars, SLT package, Pioneer DVD/CD player, sliding rear window. A/C blows cold. It has all new U joints, new brakes, new front bearings and new shocks all around. The drive train is tight like a new truck. The truck has 225k miles most of which are light highway miles as you will see by its condition. We towed with it occasionally up until the truck had about 130k miles. At that point we added a 2007 Dodge to the fleet that became the tow rig. We replaced the transmission at about 170k with a new 4 spd auto with a heavy duty torque converter. It uses no oil and has had synthetic oil run since it had 44k miles.This truck has a lot of life left in it and will do a lot of work in comfort for the price. The rear seat comes protected in plastic which is easily removable and previously placed there by the Sheriff´s Dept. upon purchase of the vehicle (therefore the rear seats have never been sat on and are perfect condition, Brand New). The tires are also in excellent condition as seen in picture, and have less than 20,000 miles on them, if there is no picture included please feel free to request one. There are plenty of storage compartments included in the floor behind the seat perfect for tools, jumper cables, a hunting rifle, and other things. This Durango includes the full stock tow package, 2´ tow hitch, and trailer harness. There is an auxiliary cigarette lighter/power plug-in located in the back section of the vehicle (good for powering electric tire pumps and other equipment).Only been driven by Non Smokers.Damages include 4 small holes on the top of the roof of the vehicle where the police lights and radio antenna were wired. These have been sealed with finishing caps and silicon and look very nice. I have owned this vehicle since 2007 and never a leak. That was a couple years ago. We´ve had zero problems since. Has around 20,000 - 30,000 miles on the new transmission. Why would I begin a car ad by telling you all this? Becauase it means reliability. This truck has been nothing but reliable for us. And that sets this vehicle apart from other offerings out there with similar mileage. The engine and transmission are strong and will take you wherever you need to go. You can look at other years... but the 1996 models were one of Dodge´s most reliable years ever for this truck series. With the 5000 lb. hitch, she will pull your boat, jet ski, camper trailer or utility trailer to wherever you need to go? The Canopy locks and with the extra height, allows for a large amount of cargo, lots of hunting dogs, 3/4 of a cord of wood, tons of camping gear, or if you prefer, room for two adults to sleep in the back on a foam pad if doing weekend outtings, etc... So why would I ever want to sell her? Well I don´t. But she isn´t looking as good as she did when I bought her with 30k miles on her. I am the second/third owner. The first primary owner, had her in Hawaii for several years before I bought her. I think she was sold on the wholesale market and a dealer brought her here to the States where she belongs. I mean really, how far can you go in Hawaii? So, what does she need to continue to service you for years to come? Well, she could use new chrome trim. The detail shops can do this for you for a few hundred. She does have a power steering leak. It may be just a hose that needs to be replaced. The power steering pump works fine otherwise. No issue with the performance of the steeering. It works really well. You can steer this truck with one finger, it´s that good, even with a small leak. She does feature a really nice smooth ride as far as big trucks go. Not mushy, but smooth. The 4-wheel drive works great, both High and Low. She does really well in the snow. She features the upgraded Sport Package with the grey interior, Chrome Wheels and Smitty Built running boards and suspension. She does sit higher than the non sport models and this means excellent ground clearance. Differentials are in good shape and fluid has been maintained. She´s had a new complete brake job done in the past year and will serve you well for years to come. She has power mirrors, and auto light-adjusting rear view mirror. Cruise Control... and it works! Air Conditioning... and it works! Tilt Steering Wheel - Very Nice for those longer drives. Also features one of the most useful gadgets that I have ever had on a vehicle... and which I don´t understand why they aren´t on more vehicles... An Exterior Temperature Guage and Compass!!! Seriously, isn´t it important to know when the air temperature has just dipped below freezing? This truck will tell you, so you can slow down long before you hit the black ice. Oh yeah... the trailer wiring is good and accurate. Hook up to any uhaul or trailer and have confidence that they work. For all this power that the 5.9L V8 engine produces and the huge towing capacity that far exceeds the weight of the vehicle, she is a surprisingly quiet truck. You can make her noisy with a glass pack if you want. But she makes one of the best road hunting rigs ever. We paid $3200 for the transmission rebuild. Basically, you can´t get any tranny repaired well for less than this on a full sized truck. Point is, I´m selling you the transmission and the rest of the truck just goes with it.
